The Solar Plexus Chakra is the third chakra, located at above our naval and directly in our stomach area. Manipura translates to "city of jewels," or "seat of gems." When this energy center is in balance, it will provide a strong momentum to move forward to realize personal desires and intentions. It helps us develop our personal power/empowerment and feeds our direction in life. We find the courage and strength to face our obstacles, stand up for ourselves and exert our willpower and self-control. We learn self-mastery, the ability to master our thoughts and emotions, we overcome fear and take healthy appropriate action in circumstance. Solar Plexus chakra empowers you to follow and not be distracted from your true path.
Manipura associates with your personal power, ego, will, taking responsibility for one's life, mental/intellectual abilities, making good decisions, confidence, self-assurance, self-discipline, personal independence and the ability to establish ideas and plans into manifestation.
Imbalances could include the following: deep seated anger, excessive control issues, feelings of entitlement and strong egoic nature OR feeling helpless and irresponsible, being obsessed with minute details, manipulative behavior, selfishness, boastfullness, self-glorification, narcisissm, arrogance, misuse of power, lack of clear direction, or lack of purpose or ambition. Imbalances also include victim role, martyrdom, pessimism, low expectations of others or passive aggressive/aggressive behavior and sarcasm. Blockages in this area can become weakened by lack of affection, criticism, rejection, feeling ignored or unappreciated.
